The “BITTER SPRITZ bar” is one of Hotel Annunziata’s most defining concepts.
It’s not just any bar. This project was inspired by a simple question: Why has no one ever dedicated a space entirely to spritz with artisanal bitters? So, we did it ourselves.
And as far as we know to date (and we’re still looking), we’re the only bar in Italy with such a wide selection and a menu dedicated to Italian artisanal bitters.
Here, spritz isn’t just one drink. It’s a whole world. We’ve created a drink list with over 30 variations, each one unique, each with its own distinct identity. Bitters and a few amaros—all artisanal, all Italian, and often hard to find. Each glass tells the story of a region, a recipe, and a history.
Then there’s everything else. The setting. Just a few tables, right in front of the Estense Castle. The light that changes throughout the day. The music that plays in the background without being intrusive. The chatter that stretches on without hurry. And then there’s that vinyl corner, which isn’t there by chance: pick a record, put it on, and the spritz changes again.
Because, in the end, you don’t come here just to have a drink. You come here to experience a moment.
A different kind of spritz, with an unforgettable view that will make you fall in love with Ferrara, with the bitter… and maybe even a little bit with that way of spending time together that we’ve almost forgotten today.
