Well, it is possible to admire one of his works here in Ferrara, the Church of San Giacomo Apostolo, a place of worship that is located in via Arginone, in the very outskirts, reachable in 15 minutes by bicycle from our hotel, built in 2010 and consecrated on October 16, 2021. The plan of the church is semicircular, to also remember the shell symbol of St. James the Apostle. Inside, the roof is punctuated by a wooden texture, for which Benedetta Tagliabue suggests the reference to “a humble hut, made of reeds and raw concrete” but with areas where the color of the concrete recalls the shape of seagulls in fly. The lighting is provided by some chandeliers with a wooden structure whose shape and unordered arrangement recalls the iconography of the descent of the Holy Spirit like flames on the first disciples. A wooden statue of St. James the Apostle and one of the Madonna complete the furnishings of the church.
Now, if we have intrigued and fascinated you with this Pearl, if you want to admire a work of international scope or if you want to immerse yourself in another work by Benedetta Tagliabue, you just have to visit the Church of San Giacomo Apostolo, a place of which very few ferraresi themselves are aware of!
